Sew it seams…..

Beautiful things come together one stitch at a time.

Here is my very first guest blog and a well deserved one at that! I am privileged to be in many networking groups and thought that I would like to share some of the extraordinary talent which is out there. Every time you buy from a small business someone does the happy dance! Real people and real dancing !

I would like to introduce a hand crafter who I have recently come across in a new buying and selling page which is called, Buyers and sellers welcome to join! Its a great fun place and a great community too.

An amazing young lady with a great deal of talent. Over to you Clare-Louise…

My name is Clare-Louise and I’m 25 years old. I live in beautiful South Wales, where 1 minute it is raining and 10 minutes later we have a heatwave. Anyone who has holidayed here can attest to that fact!

Bad news creates new challenges

In 2014 I was diagnosed with chronic illnesses. The Doctors told me I could not continue with what I was doing, which was agricultural business studies at university. Naturally I was absolutely distraught at this. Any illness makes you vulnerable but at such a young age it was devastating to me. It turned my life upside down, and left me with some tough decisions to make as to how to move forward.
I have also had a huge passion for fibre arts all my life, as in knitting and crochet and felting, so decided I would set up a home business that brings other people happiness. I knit, crochet, weave and felt, and I’m just starting to dye yarn naturally, which I hope to expand upon using various animal wool. I make everything from baby clothes to home decor. To this end I have set up two Etsy shops to showcase my products. One is for quirky items for your pets and the other is for everything else!

My shops

The shops are just starting to takeoff now and whilst it may not make my fortune it makes me feel fortunate. I can still contribute to society in a meaningful way and spread a little bit of joy too! Every cloud has a silver lining, even rain clouds! Yes I still have bad days but I have good days too, and am thankful that I have my little business and other crafter’s who I can talk to.

Helpful handcrafts information
